T/N: I decide to make a list of novels that I really enjoy and share them with you all 🙂
All of them will have actual translations. Some of these translations are complete, some are still in progress, and a few may have been dropped. If you find the dropped novels interesting, you can always MTL them yourself.
These novels range across different genres and feature either male or female protagonist as the main characters. Not all of them are BL novels.
I won't write lengthy reviews about them here since there're already plenty of reviews on Novel Updates and Webnovel.
I'll break down my recommendations into these three major categories.
Male Protagonist
This listing will feature a male character as the main protagonist. Will generally include one or more of the following:
- No (explicit) harem
- Little to no romance
- A lot of emphasis on action and adventure or personal growth
- Interesting setting
- Comedy
- Rational MC
They're a really nice read when you need a break from all the romance and relationship drama.
Female Protagonist
This listing will feature a female character as the main protagonist. Will generally include one or more of the following:
- Not too TSTL female lead
- Imperial dynasty
- Awesome power
- Not too scummy/perverted/crazy male lead
I don't read too many CN books with female protagonist compared to male protagonist since I don't like how most of them portray females. Plus the male lead's behavior can get pretty questionable.
But the ones that I can get through are worth checking out.
Male Protagonist (BL Novels)
This listing will also feature a male character as the main protagonist. Will generally include one or more of the following:
- BL elements
- Fairly intelligent or rational main character
- Not too creepy love interest
- Diverse genres
- Food for the soul
